Our Work

As a worker center, WDP members develop protective legislation, directly address serious workplace problems through direct action and legal tactics, and generally improve their working conditions. WDP members fight to win fair, safe jobs and become effective advocates for themselves and their communities.

Employment & Legal Services

Employment and Legal Services help low-wage workers directly address serious workplace problems through legal services and direct action.

Organizing

Organizing uses education, advocacy, direct action, and leadership development to empower worker-members to effect systemic change.

Better Builder

Through policy change and community education, the Better Builder® Program seeks to improve conditions in the construction industry by advocating for the following workplace standards: living wage, OSHA-10 safety trainings, workers’ compensation coverage, hiring goals from DOL and local craft training programs, and independent third-party onsite monitoring.
